We need people power to help save our environment

Did you know that the Australian koala is facing extinction? Or that some of our most precious natural areas are under threat from land clearing, development, and even mining? Globally we are facing not just a climate emergency, but also an extinction crisis. Loss of habitat, plants and animals is already starting to have an impact on ecosystems and food production.

Australia’s environment laws are not strong enough to protect our beautiful places and unique Australian animals. We need the laws fixed and we need a cop on-the-beat, an environment protection watchdog to enforce them.

Today, the Morrison government announced a review of the country’s environmental regulations. But already it seems the Government intends to cut protections for the environment, rather than putting in place strong laws to save our natural places and native animals.

The big mining companies and developers are busy lobbying the Environment Minister to cut “green-tape” - code for less regulations and faster approvals for projects that damage the environment.

Help us tell the politicians that Australians won’t stand for our beautiful environment and animals being destroyed. The community expects our Government to protect nature and save our wildlife.

While big corporations argue for weaker laws, we need people power to help save our environment.

Join our campaign for stronger laws and an independent Environmental Protection Authority that has the teeth to stand up for saving our natural places.

If we don’t stop the extinction crisis now, our beloved koala and many other special species will be lost, forever.

Don’t let the big miners and developers off the hook. Our environment is in crisis and needs proper protection. Help us send a message to the Prime Minister that you want our environment and native animals saved, not destroyed.
