Ban drilling in the Bight

Drilling in the Great Australian Bight must be banned. No longer should our coastal communities live with this cloud over their heads, or oil muck washing up on their beaches. No longer can we continue to rip more fossil fuels out of the earth to burn, contributing to dangerous climate change.

I support Senator Sarah Hanson-Young's Private Member's Great Australian Bight Environment Protection Bill 2019.

The Bight is home to some of the most unique marine and bird life on the planet, and is a nursery to southern  right whales. Kangaroo Island is the jewel in South Australia’s tourism crown. We have so much to be proud of, and so much to protect. 

I call on the Federal Government to protect our marine life, our tourism and fishing industries; and our beautiful coastline in the Great Australian Bight. 

Drilling in the Great Australian Bight must end. The Great Australian Bight deserves world heritage listing.
